India Wildlife TourKanha National Park Kanha National Park is created on June 01, 1995. Situated in the Mandla and Balaghat district of Madhya Pradesh in India, Kanha National Park is a Tiger Reserve and a national park. Kanha area was divided into two sanctuaries, Hallon and Banjar of 250 and 300 sqkm each in 1930s and today it stretches over an area of 940 sqkm in both the districts. Kanha Park is covered with sal and bamboo forests, meadows and meandering streams. There are two gates for entrance into the forest. The Kisli gate is best accessible from Jabalpur and the second gate is Mukki. Kanha National Park is largely tiger populated. The spotter deer or Chital and Samber are also found in in the park in a very good number. The park also has a large number of leopards, sloth bear and Indian wolf. Other larger mammal species of the park are rhesus macaque, golden jackal, Bengal fox, smooth-coated otter, honey badger, civet, Indian gray mongoose, ruddy mongoose, striped hyena, jungle cat, leopard cat, spotted chevrotain, pangolin, porcupine, hare and jungle fowl are very commonly found. Best time to Visit February to June are the best months to visit to this place. Morning visiting hours are from sunrise to 1100 hr and Evening visiting hours are from 1630 hr to sunset. Kaha National Park is closed for public from July 01 to September 30. Reaching Kanha National Park The nearest airport and railhead is at Jabalpur at a distance of 160 km, 3 hours by road which is connected with Delhi, Mumbai and Bhopal. Nearby PlacesBamni Dadar: Bamni Dadar is a favourite place among visitors. The main attraction for tourists is a wonderful view of the setting Sun for which this place is famous.Kanha Museum Kanha Museum, dedicated to tribal culture of Madhya Pradesh is another interesting place to visit. This museum is a right place to fully understand the topography and other aspects of the park.
