Destinations Covered : Delhi, Jaipur, Agra, Pushkar, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Chittaurgarh, Kota, Jhansi, Khajuraho, Varanasi Intriguing sights and golden hues of royalty await you on a visit to Classical North India and Royal Rajasthan. Embark on your journey at Delhi, the state capital, and continue travelling towards the west – to Rajasthan, a land of regal splendor and a magnificent past. Also journey to Khajuraho, where exotica changes to erotica embodied in the fantastic sculptures that adorn the walls of the temples dedicated to love. Onwards to Varanasi, the home of the mighty Ganges, with a history of 3000 years is also probably the oldest, continuously inhabited city in the world. Devout Hindus believe that one who is graced to die in Varanasi would attain salvation and freedom from the karmic cycle of birth and re-birth. Day 1 Delhi Arrive New Delhi International Airport by flight. Meeting at airport & transfer to hotel. (Note: Check-in & check-out at hotels in India is 12:00 Noon.) During the afternoon, at around 14:30 Hrs. take a half day tour of Old Delhi. Visit Raj Ghat (the cremation site of Mahatma Gandhi), the Jama Masjid (the biggest Mosque in India), Chandni Chowk (the shopping centre of Old Delhi) and drive past Red Fort. Return to your hotel for an overnight. Day 2 Delhi Partake of an impressive breakfast and proceed on a morning tour of New Delhi visiting India Gate, the Lakshminarayan Temple and Qutab Minar. Drive past the President's House, Parliament House, Government Secretariat Buildings and Connaught Place. The rest of the day is at leisure. Return to your hotel for an overnight. Day 3 Delhi - Jaipur In the morning drive to Jaipur (180 km). In the afternoon visit the City Palace, Hawa Mahal, Jantar Mantar, and other places of interest in the city. Return to hotel for dinner and night stay. Day 4 Jaipur On the day 4, drive Amber, about 11 km away from Jaipur. Ascend to the Palace Fortress on the back of an Elephant. Take a glimpse of the colorful bazaar. In the evening drive through the new city of Jaipur and visit "Laxmi Narayan Mandir", a Hindu temple made out of white marble. Later return to hotel for an overnight. Day 5 Jaipur - Fatehpur Sikri - Agra On day 5 leave Rajasthan move towards Agra (260 km). Enroute visit Fatehpur Sikri. Late in the evening arrival in Agra. Rest of the day at leisure. Day 6 Agra Start your day with a visit to the Agra Fort. After visiting Agra Fort we proceed to visit the most beautiful monument of India, the Taj Mahal. We spend much of our day here. Later on we return to hotel for overnight stay. Day 7 Agra - Gwalior Day 7 we move on to Gwalior (120 km). We visit the fort of Gwalior same day. Rest of the day at leisure. Day 8 Gwalior - Orcha - Khajuraho Early in the morning we leave Gwalior and proceed to Khajuraho (330 km). On the way to Khajuraho we visit Orchha. Orchha's grandeur has been captured in its temples and Chattris. After visiting Orchha we proceed for Khajuraho. Arrival in Khajuraho in the late evening. Check in hotel. Day 9 Khajuraho After breakfast, you start your day with a visit to the temples of Khajuraho. Visit the temple complex of Eastern Group and Western Group. Most famous among them is the Laxmana Temple, which is dedicated to god Vishnu. The presence of erotic sculptures in the Temples at Khajuraho is one of the expressions among others that displaying different aspects of mankind. Later on you return to hotel. Day 10 Khajuraho – Varanasi Next day morning leave for Varanasi (420 km). Varanasi is regarded as one of the oldest and the holiest city by the Hindus. Visit the temples and Ghats of Ganges. Return to hotel by evening for night stay. Day 11 Varanasi Early morning take a boat ride on the Ganges and enjoy sunrise on the boat. In the noon visit the city of Varanasi. Late in the evening you go back to hotel for rest. A drive can be organized to Sarnath (10 km) on request. Sarnath is the place where Buddha delivered his first sermon at deer park. Day 12 Varanasi - Delhi (by air) In the afternoon fly from Varanasi to Delhi. In Delhi we have rest of the day at leisure. Day 13 Departure from Delhi Around midnight flight to home destination.
