Pahalgam

The Amarnath cave comprises a worldwide fame and is just 6 kms away from the city and people throng to see an ice stalagmite forming a natural Shiva-Ling during the month of Sawan in the Amarnath cave.

Tarsar Lake
Tarsar Lake is famous for its charming camping sites and flower meadows and tempts travellers in hordes.

How to reach Pahalgam

Getting to Pahalgam is not a problem indeed as the city has a fine connectivity with all the modes of transportations.

By Air: Srinagar is the nearest airport around 95 kms away and takes around 3 hrs to be there.

By Rail: The closest rail head to Pahalgam is Jammu Tawi in Jammu which is at least 8 hrs of drive.

By Road: State transport buses have a fine facility to Srinagar and other parts of India.

Shopping

Pahalgam comes among the most popular tourist spots in India and offers lots of sites for its guests. Those who travel here love to shop the things and items available here. Though the city is not a grand avenue for shopping and even neither presents some distinctive items at the same time. But then, good shopping facilities can be hoped by the visitors here. Wool products like Gabbas and Namdas are the trendiest items here and sold vastly to the travellers. Such items are easily available in the local shops at reasonable pricing.
